Another ministry the friars engage in as a means of living out the Works of Mercy is hospital ministry. Much of this is accomplished at the parish level when parishioners must stay in hospitals by offering them communion and the Anointing of the Sick. Other friars serve at the administrative level of hospitals and still more serve as nurses and interact directly with patients providing both medical and spiritual care.
