You’ve heard of “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday”… the big shopping days around Thanksgiving that begin the holiday season with a flurry of spending.

Giving Tuesday offers us something different: an opportunity to begin the season in a spirit of generosity. Since its founding in 2012, Giving Tuesday has grown into a worldwide day of giving, inviting people to support the causes and organizations closest to their hearts.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to help prepare four of our Postulants for lives of ministry and service.

We are deeply grateful for the gift of vocations God has entrusted to our Province. But answering God’s call requires years of prayer, formation, study, and preparation. This year, four of our friars are pursuing graduate theology studies as they continue their journey toward the priesthood.

The cost of tuition for each friar is approximately $7,800 for the academic year, with another $600 needed for books. That means an investment of $8,400 for each friar—or $33,600 for all four friars this year. Our Giving Tuesday goal is to raise the full $33,600 needed to provide their tuition and books.

Your gift of any amount will help these four men continue their education and formation without the burden of these expenses. More importantly, you will be investing in the future of our Franciscan vocation—helping prepare friars who will one day celebrate the Sacraments, preach the Gospel, comfort those who are suffering, and serve God’s people wherever they are called.

What a beautiful way to begin the Advent season: by helping four men who have said “yes” to God’s call prepare for a lifetime of saying “yes” in service to others.
