The Shrines and Sunken Gardens at Mount Assisi are sacred grounds. Home of the Franciscan Friars, Third Order Regular, the shrines are open to the public from sunrise to sunset seven days a week as a place to pray, visit, and enjoy natural beauty.

Shrine Renovations:

The shrine welcomes thousands of pilgrims each year. As stewards of this sacred space, the Franciscan Friars, T.O.R., are launching a campaign to ensure the Shrine is safe and can be enjoyed by generations to come.  Renovations will focus on three key areas:

Paving:

Natural beauty meets enchanting architecture in the Shrine and Gardens. However, the stone walkway has grown uneven, posing safety concerns for all visitors and presenting challenges for those with limited mobility. A Goal of $212,760 has been set to complete the paving updates. We are still working on this project.

Stations of the Cross

The Stations that line the walkway are weathered and deteriorating. Project Completed.

Benches

The Shrine hosts events and offers several spots to pray the Rosary or reflect individually. Wood benches currently surround the grounds. New heavy-duty teak wood benches will be more comfortable, more stable, and able to withstand the elements. Some will be permanently affixed to concrete slabs, and some will be left unattached so they can be rearranged for Fatima Devotions and other occasions. Project Completed.

Recognition Levels:

Gold ($2,500) - Your gift will be directed toward the Paving project, and a paver inscribed with the name will be part of the new pathway.

Silver ($1,200) - A brass plaque leading to the Stations will include the names of all who contribute to the Stations of the Cross replacements. Completed

Bronze ($800) - A name plate will adorn the new teak benches you help to acquire. Completed
